英文study是什么意思（动词study用法及释疑）

study可以用作名词和动词，今天谈谈study作为动词的用法及它和learn 的不同。

1.study作为动词，可以指“学习；攻读”。比如：

How long have you been studying English?你学英语多久了？Don't disturb Jane, she's studying for her exams.不要打扰简，她正在温习功课，准备考试呢。

Kids would rather play than study.孩子们宁愿玩而不愿学习。It's important to study hard, but don't overdo it.刻苦学习很重要，但不要超过极限。

2.study指“审视；端详；细看”。比如：

Scientists are studying photographs of the planet for signs of life.科学家仔细察看行星照片，寻找生命迹象。He studied her face thoughtfully.他一边端详她的脸，一边沉思。

Fran was studying the menu.弗兰在仔细地看菜单。Debbie studied her friend's face for a moment.黛比端详了一会儿她朋友的脸。

3.study指“研究；调查”。比如：

We will study the report carefully before making a decision.我们将认真研究这份报告，然后再作决定。The group will study how the region coped with the loss of thousands of jobs.该小组将考察这一地区是如何应对减少几千个工作岗位的局面的。

I know that you've been studying chimpanzees for thirty years now.我知道你研究黑猩猩至今已有30年了。

4.释疑

1）study和learn意思相近。但有差别。study指较高阶段的学习，故有研究之义。learn 侧重于学的成果,常译为“学到，学会”，study 侧重于学习过程。比如：

Quite a lot of South Americans study here.相当多的南美洲人在这里学习。Today I learnt how to use the new software.今天我学会了怎样使用这个新软件。

The boy studied hard and learned English well.这个男孩学习努力，英语学得相当好。

2）从搭配上看，当表示“向……学习”时，要用learn from，不能用study from。比如：

He is a good student and we should learn from him.他是个好学生，我们应该向他学习。It is important to try and learn from experience.努力从经验中学习是重要的。What can we learn from the artist?我们能从这位艺术家身上学到什么？
